Background:
The Print Hall is a multi-level dining and bar precinct, opened in 2012. Formerly Newspaper House, the building is heritage-listed.
Challenge:
A roof top terrace bar with a large open outdoor area was part of the design for the new look Print Hall. It was anticipated that the summer temperatures would make the bar and adjoining courtyard area uncomfortable. The area required an “air-conditioned” feel to attract and keep customers in this part of the venue. As the building is heritage-listed the design had to comply with strict guidelines specified by the architects.
Solution: CoolMist® Premium Series Mist Cooling System
The CoolMist® Premium Series Mist Cooling System was installed to bring relief from the anticipated heat in this terrace bar during Perth’s hot summers.
Designed to blend with the structure and in keeping with the heritage nature of the building, we were able to successfully meet the clients brief.
The system is powered by 1 x single phase high pressure (1000 psi) pumping unit with ultra mist nozzles and anti-drip feature. The design consists of mist line which is inconspicuous and not noticed until the mist is in operation.
The smaller sized CoolMist® Premium Series misting system installed is very efficient and economical as utility costs under $1.50 p/day in power and water.
